GETTING HERE

District Fringe Venues

We’re in a new Phoenix venue on the UDC campus — Building 46W — which is closer to Metro with a nearby parking garage. The venue is also right near our Firefly amphitheater stage, so you can walk to any part of the festival in less than 5 minutes.

All District Fringe venues are ADA accessible. There is an elevator at the Van Ness metro station opposite the west exit. As an alternative to the stairs up to the Phoenix Mainstage, there is an elevator inside UDC Theater of the Arts Building 46E.

Having trouble finding us? Here are walking directions for getting from our Flicker Bar & Box Office (4340 Connecticut Ave NW, the Van Ness Main Street Building) to our other venues:

  • Turn right out of the Flicker Bar and continue along Connecticut Ave.

  • Take a right onto Windom Place- that’s the corner where Potbelly is.

  • Walk down Windom until you reach a building with a sign that says UDC Theatre of the Arts. That building is not a District Fringe venue.

  • To get to the Firefly Amphitheatre, a sign will point you down a path to the right. Take that path and you’ll see the outdoor amphitheatre.

  • To get to the Phoenix Mainstage, go up the large set of stairs to the right of the Theater of the Arts building. (If you have accessibility needs, go inside the Theater of the Arts and ask to use the elevator.) The Phoenix Mainstage is the building at the top of the stairs- its sign says Performing Arts 46W, and it has a District Fringe banner out front.

The following bus routes go to UDC:

Directions By Car

From Maryland:

Take I-495 beltway exit 33 MD-185s Connecticut Ave towards Chevy Chase. Continue around the roundabout. Take the 4th exit. Continue on Connecticut Ave then turn right on Windom Pl. NW.

From Virginia:

Take I-295 North towards DC.  Take the 14th Street bridge. Turn left on I Street then turn right on Connecticut Ave. Continue on Connecticut Ave then turn left on Windom Pl. NW.

Parking

There is are paid parking garages open to the public at 4221 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008
and 4400 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008 . Rates range from Free for up to 30 minutes, to $20 for the day.

There is metered street parking in the neighborhood, which is free on Sunday.
